Nora "Lorraine" (Allen) Combs, 85, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at Good Samaritan Center in Dodge City.
She was born Aug. 31, 1924, in Dodge City, to Orville W. and Myrtle Marie (Hockett) Allen. She married Robert Combs. He preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1987.
A resident of Dodge City most of her life, Lorraine was employed as a switchboard operator by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter of Dodge City.
Lorraine is survived by four daughters, Connie Love and husband, Jack, of Wichita, Linda Hoot and husband, Craig, of Cocoa, Fla., Karen Grim and husband, John, of Enid, Okla., and Kathie Simmons and husband, Allen, of Dodge City; and one son, Danny Combs and wife, Cathy Jo, of Dodge City. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and three grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, with Jeff Hiers presiding. A private burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City at a later date.
