Emery W. Brokar, 87, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at the Edwards County Hospital, Kinsley.
He was born March 18, 1922, to Valentine and Johanna Nietz Brokar at Bloom. He married Oria Mae Rector in 1942. She preceded him in death on April 1, 1982. He married Thelma Shevie on June 4, 1984, at Kinsley. She preceded him in death.
He was retired from United Carbon Co.
Other survivors include three sons, David and Billy, both of Kinsley, and Vernon, Bakersfield, Calif.; a daughter, Jo Ann Keys, Shamrock, Texas; a sister, Cassie Lewis, Dodge City; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hillside Cemetery, Kinsley, with Avery Rutledge presiding.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 7 pm. Tuesday at McKillip Memorial Funeral Home, Kinsley.
