 DODGE CITY — Bernice “Bernie” N. Chamberlain, 84, died Friday, July 24, 2009, at Western Plains Medical Complex.
    She was born Aug. 30, 1924 at Towanda, Kansas. She was married to Frank J. Chamberlain on September 12, 1946, in Wichita, Kansas. Frank passed away on September 17, 1995.
    Bernice was a loving mother who was a champion bowler and an avid poker player.
    Survivors include: her son, Dana of Dodge City; her daughters, Dena Miller and husband, Dale, of Dodge City, Dona Cragg of Dodge City, and Dina Lane and husband, James, of Ford, Kansas; four grandchildren, Brandie Becchina, Chase Cragg, Morgan Lane and Montgomery Lane.
    Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009. at the Greencrest Mausoleum of Peace in Dodge City, Kansas. with Rev. Lance Carrithers presiding.  Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Burkhart-Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. The casket will remain closed. 
    The family suggests memorials to Ford County EMS or Meals on Wheels, both in care of Burkhart-Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, Kansas, 67801. Condolences may be sent to www.burkhart-ziegler.com.
