Bridget Murphy Daniel, 88, died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at the Sterling House, Dodge City.
She was born Dec. 2, 1920, in Bootle, Liverpool, England, to Thomas Patrick and Elizabeth Ann Hartley Murphy. On July 24, 1945, she married John W. Daniel from La Grange, Ga., at Liverpool, England. He survives.
A Dodge City resident since 1953, moving from LaGrange, Ga. she worked at Jones Packing and was a sales clerk at Woolworth’s and Dillons, all in Dodge City and was a homemaker. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City.
Other survivors include two sons, Tom Daniel and wife, Cindy, Ford, and Gerard Daniel and wife, Cheryl, Fairview, N.M; two daughters, Terry Fotovich and husband, Steve, and Magdalen Daniel, all of Huntsville, Ala.; a sister, Brenda Carrington and husband, Bob, Liverpool, England; 16 grandchildren ; 41 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Russell.
The memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City, with the Rev. Ted A. Skalsky presiding. Inturnment will be in the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at Fort Dodge.
There will be no public viewing, as cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Burkhart-Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
