Elsie M. Ward, 87, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at Pioneer Lodge, Coldwater.
    She was born Feb. 16, 1923, to Arthur and Lydia (Lawson) Ray at Buffalo, Mo. She married Loyd Ward on Aug. 12, 1939, at Pratt.  He preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1988.
    She was a cook for the Coldwater Schools.
    Survivors include her two sons, Bill Ward and wife, Bonnie, Fulton, Texas, and Earl Ward and wife, Donna, Coldwater; one daughter, Sharon Reese, Kingman; one sister, Aleen James, Louisville, Ky.; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers , Loren Ray and Lawrence Ray; and one grandson, Russel Ward.
    The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church, Coldwater, with Andrew Evans presiding.  Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater.
    Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater.
    Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or Pioneer Lodge in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater.
