Marshall K. Cusick, 92, a long-time farmer stockman in the Minneola area, died Oct. 31, 2009, at the Minneola Long Term Care Center.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Minneola Christian Church. Pastor Virgil White will officiate. The flower service will be at 10 a.m. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, with the family from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Minnis Mortuary in Minneola.
Mr. Cusick was born Nov. 22, 1916, to Jennie Mae Downs and Walter E. Cusick in the farm home near Minneola, Kansas, where he lived much of his life. He graduated from Minneola High School in 1934.
He married Nadine Mannis on Aug. 25, 1944. She preceded him in death on Oct. 28, 1985.
On Dec. 8, 1990, he married Roberta Ferguson Nickelson. She survives at the home in Minneola.
He was a long-time member, deacon and elder of the Minneola Christian Church.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, as well as a staunch Christian who served His Lord using all of his quiet and many talents.
Besides his wife, Nadine, he was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Pugh, and his brother, Marvin Cusick. Survivors include his wife, Roberta; two daughters, Connie Parish, Leavenworth, and Patti Cummins, Dodge City; four sisters, Lois Barnett, Independence; Rosa Lee (Luther) McGee, Minneola; Nora (Jim) Sands, Merriam; and Erma Danley, Brandon, Vermont; two grandchildren, Michelle (Nicholas) Kieffer, Wichita; Douglas Cummins, Manhattan; and one great-granddaughter, Makenzie Kieffer, Wichita; and a host of nephews and nieces.
