 Betty Jeanne (Owen) Jackson, 88, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at her residence in Coldwater.
    She was born Dec. 23, 1921,  in Sacred Heart, Minn., to Clarence Harrison "Harry" and Iva May (Slater) Owen. She married Neill Taylor Jackson on Aug. 21, 1940, at Las Vegas. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2000.
    She was a longtime resident of Comanche County, moving there in 1949 from California. She was a bookkeeper/secretary for the Crossed J Ranch.
    She is survived by two sons, Dan Jackson and wife, Sharlyn, Coldwater, and Edd Jackson and wife, Kathi, Reno, Nev.; one daughter, Linda Hart, Coldwater; one sister, Shirley Berndt, Bullhead City, Ariz.; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
    She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard and Lee Owen, and one son-in-law, Kent Hart.
    The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Coldwater, with the Rev. Gary Merritt presiding. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater.
    Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater. The family will greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
    Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church or South Wind Hospice in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
