To the superintendent of schools in Dodge City :
This past weekend, Feb. 18-21, I was attending the 56th annual Kansas Sport, Boat and Travel Show in Wichita. Following the conclusion of the show late Saturday night, I visited a Subway restaurant located on Ridge Road near the airport and close to my hotel.
Once inside the restaurant, I came upon the wrestling team from Dodge City High School, which had just completed competing in the Class 6A regional tournament in Wichita. The restaurant, which was understaffed for a Saturday night with two large events (regional wrestling tournament and sport show) in town, caused the wait in line to take a considerable amount of time.
However, it was during this time in line where I had an opportunity to watch, listen and learn about the quality student-athletes in your high school wrestling program.
