We have three beautiful granddaughters. Two were born prematurely, tiny but sweet, beautiful, innocent babies that just needed extra help from caring medical personnel before they could go home. We all know people who entered the world prematurely, needing extra care, but have grown to be just like everyone else.
During the presidential debate last week, it was made known that Sen. Obama voted “no” on the Born-Alive Infant Protection Act, which would provide care and legal protection for babies born alive during abortions. He tried to deny his no vote, then said he did vote no because the bill wasn’t needed. I wanted to know more. Here’s what I found out:
As an Illinois state Senator, Obama not only voted no, but voted no four times and worked behind the scenes to scuttle the bill and led the fight against it — even voting against an Illinois state bill similar to one passed unanimously at the federal level.
Also, Obama signed the Abortion Establishment’s Pledge of Allegiance to be behind every piece of legislation it proposes, including the measure Obama vowed to sign as his first act as president: The Freedom of Choice Act. Co-sponsored by Obama, it is a piece of legislation so extreme it would wipe out every limitation on abortion, including parental notification and informed consent laws, would make partial-birth abortion legal again, and require taxpayer funding of abortion on demand.
Why would anyone work so hard to deny care to tiny infants born alive? We can’t trust Obama to protect any of us if he denied protection to the smallest of us! Your vote this November has definite life or death consequence!
Vote for the man who respects life and has protected all of us by serving in the U.S. military for many years — John McCain.
