Since the filmmaker and actor Kevin Smith was not allowed to travel on a recent flight, the question of whether obese people should pay for two seats when traveling is in the spotlight.
Almost immediately, Smith complained on the social network Twitter about the way he was treated by the flight attendants and the airline. The company explained that he was ejected from the flight because he could not fit properly in his seat, as required by the airline’s policy.
After Smith’s censure, his Twitter fans voiced their complaints, and the airline apologized publicly.
Some airlines already have rules for people with weight problems. If passengers cannot fit properly in the seat, they must design a plan ahead and reserve two seats.
