The Dodge City High School Red Demon girls golf team shot a collective 401 and placed ninth at the state tournament Monday at Alvamar Golf Course in Lawrence. 12 teams qualified for the state tournament.
Manhattan High won the tournament with a 346, Blue Valley West took second with a 350 and Olathe East placed third with their 357.
"We had a great season," said Red Demon golf coach Jim Mapel. "After winning the conference championship and sending everyone to state for the first time in six years, the girls played great all season."
Sophomore Friyana Shah's 89 over the tree-lined 18 holes earned her a 16th-place finish. The top 20 finishers earned a medal at the state tournament.
Senior Katelyn Hamilton shot a 102 at Alvamar. Sophomore Ali Bone shot 104.
Sophomore Brittany Waldman shot a 106, while junior Krystal Martinez shot 107.
Senior Sydney Matheny shot a 110.
