DODGE CITY —

It will be deja vu time, when unbeaten Meade High School meets Sublette tonight at 7 in a Class 2A bi-district playoff game in Meade.
Both of these teams have been here before, with Meade coming out on top in each of the last two seasons in the playoffs, including 28-10 last season.
“They are only 23 points from being 9-0 themselves,” Meade coach Scott Moshier said of Sublette (6-3). “Their losses have all been close, and we definitely know that they’re a good football team. Nobody’s overlooking anybody.
“It’s one of those things where we know that they’re going to be excited and fired up. We’re the team that’s kept them out of the playoffs the last couple years.”
This season, Meade features a high-octane rushing offense dubbed as a running-back-by-committee by Moshier, an offense that has scored 42 or more points in all but two of its games.
The Buffaloes stampeded past LaCrosse last Thursday to win the district championship outright, prevailing 46-12 after falling behind 12-6 at halftime.
Meade featured a running game against LaCrosse that rolled up 385 of the Buffs’ 392 yards in total offense.
Albert Davis led Meade’s running attack against LaCrosse with 125 yards in 13 carries and one touchdown.
Trevin Wiens had 72 yards in three carries, including a 68-yard scoring run on a double-reverse, while Jaden Friesen had 68 yards in 12 carries, including a 46-yard scoring run.
Quarterback Dakota Benear had 65 yards in 15 carries and two touchdowns, and Kellan Rodriguez had 55 yards in 12 carries and one score.
Five players have rushed for 385 or more yards this season, led by Friesen’s 668 yards in 101 carries.
Though the Buffs don’t throw often, Benear has had 56-for-96 accuracy for 58.3 percent and 10 touchdowns.
Benear has thrown for 689 yards and has been intercepted six times.
Hernandez leads the team with 20 catches for 240 yards and six touchdowns.
Sublette has won four of its last five games, including a 53-0 romp at Santana last Thursday  to advance to the playoffs.
The Larks compete in the Hi-Plains Division II League.
