Dodge City Country Club will host a golf benefit for Dodge City native Tara Goedeken on Sat., May 9. Money collected from the benefit will help to cover the costs of entry fees, travel and equipment throughout the year as Goedeken begins her professional golf career on Arizona's Cactus Tour and the Duramed Futures Tour.
The benefit is open to anyone interested in playing a round of golf and will also feature a throw-your-club contest, a long-drive contest and a putting contest. The entry fee is $65 per person, and for $10 more, contestants can buy two mulligans.
Registration for the scramble tournament will begin at 8 a.m., and the shotgun start will be at 9 a.m. Interested parties can sign up at the country club or by calling (620) 225-5231.
Goedeken has already competed in two Cactus Tour events and finished in a tie for eighth in her debut two weeks ago at Wigwam Resort.
