Dodge City native Bob Seidl was inducted into the Kansas USSSA Slowpitch Hall of Fame last month in downtown Kansas City.

Seidl, who graduated from Dodge City High School in 1973 and St. Mary’s of the Plains in 1978, began playing softball in 1974. Over the next 31 years the Dodge City native played for the Dodge City Sand, Pay Day IGA, Kansas Merchants along with two masters teams, Northend Disposal and Dodge City Budweiser.

During his time as a softball player, Seidl won 25 state championships, a 4-state regional championship, and two MVP awards which include the 1991 ASA Masters State MVP and the 1993 USSSA Masters MVP.

Seidl was one of 11 players from Kansas who was inducted last month.
