The Bucklin Red Aces boys basketball team won their last game in the 2018 SPIAA League Basketball Tournament, beating Minneola 42-35 Saturday afternoon.

Bucklin led by as much as 16 in a game that was never tied after the first score of the game.

One thing head coach Aaron Hailey said he liked about his team's performance was the way they never gave up and played a complete game.

"One of the things we've been struggling with has been playing a complete game," Hailey said. "We were able to do that (and) put together more of a complete game than what we've been able to do, and our big guys down low was actually playing pretty tough, and that's what we need today to win."

Saturday's game was by no means high-scoring, but in a way, that works better for the Aces he said.

"I thought our defense held on pretty good," Hailey said. "I think if we can keep those scores (to) a lower scoring game, it fits us better, and I was really proud of the way we played defense."

Hopefully the team can use Saturday's win go get on a roll going forward, Hailey said.

"(Hopefully) it gives the kids confidence going forward and we're able to put together a few wins in a row," Hailey said.
