After having back-to-back 20-win seasons, Dodge City Community College has announced the volleyball schedule for the 2018 season.

Under the direction of a new head coach, the Conquistadors look to keep their winning ways and compete in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.

In the 2017 season, the Conquistadors finished seventh in the West Divison of the KJCCC, but were able to complete season sweeps of Pratt Community College, Cloud County Community College and Garden City Community College.

Before Dodge City kicks off the season, they have two scrimmages set for Aug. 11 at Oklahoma Panhandle State and Aug. 18 at Butler.

The season will then begin on Aug. 22 in Chanute, Kan., as the Conquistadors will take on Neosho County at 6 p.m. The Conqs will then travel to Lamar, Colo., for the Little Caesar Invitational Tournament on Aug. 24, before beginning KJCCC play on Aug. 27 at Barton.

After two more road games, the Conqs will play their first home game of the year as they host Butler on Sept. 5, at 6:30 p.m. Dodge City will then head back to the road for the Trinidad Invitational on Sept. 7-8, and then will play back-to-back KJCCC matchups on the road against Hutchinson on Sept. 10, and Seward County on Sept. 12.

Coming back to the Student Activity Center, the Conqs will then host Independence on Sept. 14 and Pratt on Sept. 17. After two away dates, the Conqs will then begin a homestand consisting of four dates, with the first being against Seminole State College on Sept. 24. Just two days later, the Conqs will hold a triangular with Sterling JV and then will get back to KJCCC play on Sept. 28 and Oct. 1, against Colby and Barton.

For the remainder of the season, the Conqs will have four more home games against Seward County, Garden City, Hutchinson and Bethany College JV on Oct. 8, Oct. 16, Oct. 19 and Oct. 24, respectively. The game against Bethany College JV will mark an end to the regular season and will be sophomore night.
