Wichita State student athlete Rayvon Allen finished 10th in the long jump at the IAAF World U20 Championships Wednesday morning.
 
Freshman Rayvon Allen finished 10th with a mark of 7.61m/24-11.75 at the IAAF World U20 Championships. The St. Louis, Mo., native fouled on his first attempt, followed with a jump of 7.30m/23-11.5 on his second attempt. In the third round of jumps Allen recorded his best mark of 7.61m/24-11.75, earning him 10th place.
 
Yuki Hashioka of Japan won the event with a mark of 8.03m/26-4.25, Maikel Y. Vidal of Cuba finished second (7.99m/26-2.75) and Wayne Pinnock of Jamaica rounded out the top-3 with a jump of 7.90m/25-11. USA teammate JuVaughn Blake of LSU finished 9th with a mark of 7.63m/15-0.5
 
Allen qualified for the finals on Tuesday morning with the seventh best jump of 7.58m/24-10.5.
