Expectations are high for the Ingalls volleyball team going into the 2018 season, head coach Jade Foos said.

The Bulldogs are young, but return 11 players off last year’s team.

Of the 15 girls out for the team, Foos said only three of them are upperclassmen.

“We have a considerably young team this year with only two seniors and one junior, eight sophomores and four freshmen,” Foos said. “I’m excited to see the younger classes step up and compete in the varsity level.”

Only four varsity players return from last year she said, so there are plenty of open spots to fill.

With so much youth, Foos said this is a rebuilding year for the team. That doesn’t, however, make it a necessarily bad season for the team autotmatically.

“I look forward to seeing new leaders and strong competitors grow out of this rebuilding year,” Foos said.

The Bulldogs start play Aug. 28 at South Central before returning home to host their home-opener Aug. 30.
