The Spearville Lancers girls volleyball team prevailed at a quad in Cimarron Tuesday, beating Western Plains/Healy by scores 25-11, 25-3; Satanta by scores 25-9, 25-13; and finishing off grinding out a tough last set to beat the Cimarron Bluejays 25-13, 25-13.

The Satanta Indians also prevailed over Cimarron, beating the Bluejays in two highly-contested sets by scores of 26-24, 25-23.

Cimarron went 0-2 on the night overall. They lost to Satanta by scores 24-26, 23-25, and then to Spearville by scores 13-25, 13-25.

The Bluejays are next in action Aug. 30, in Ingalls for a triangular at Ingalls that includes South Gray and Ingalls. Start time is scheduled for 5 p.m.


Other SPIAA Action:

Multiple other teams from the Southern Plains - Iroquois Activities Association were in action on the volleyball courts Tuesday.

In Minneola, Bucklin went 1-2, falling to Pawnee Heights in straight sets by scores of 20-25, 18-25; and to Minneola in three sets by scores 25-21, 14-25, 21-25. They beat Fowler by scores 25-15, 25-15 in straight sets.

At Coldwater-South Central, the South Central Timberwolves continued their hot start this season, beating Kinsley by scores 25-16, 25-15; Ashland by scores 25-7, 25-15; and Ingalls by scores 25-21, 25-10. They are currently 8-0 overall and 2-0 in league-play.

In Kiowa County, the Mavericks hosted a home quad that featured them and Hodgeman County from SPIAA. Hodgeman County went 0-3, losing to Kiowa County by scores 17-25, 10-25; and Macksville in three sets by scores 25-17, 16-25 and 14-25; and Norwich by scores 16-25, 23-25.

The Mavericks went 3-0, beating Norwich 25-15, 25-18; Macksville 25-16, 25-16; and Hodgeman County 25-17, 25-10.
