To begin the 2018 golf schedule, the women's golf team traveled to Colorado State-Pueblo on Monday and Tuesday to participate in the Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Invitational.

The Conquistadors took just three girls to Colorado where they all competed as individuals. Other schools participating in the event were, Colorado State-Pueblo, Colorado - CO Springs, Colorado Mesa, Ft. Lewis College, Metro State University, Chadron State, Lubbock Christian, Adams State, South Dakota School of Mines and Tech and Black Hills State.

Napaknaree Sirithorn led the way for Dodge City as she posted a score of 73 on Monday to head into the final day in second place. Sirithorn then began day two with a double bogey, but regained her composure to finish the round with a score of 76, to post a total score of 149, good enough to finish in a tie for first place. Sirithorn tied with Colorado State-Pueblo's Orakorn Thirayatorn who played at Dodge City Community College from 2015-17.

Suthasinee Sridet shot just five over on day one to head into the final day tied for fifth. After shooting a 79 (+7) on day two, Sridet finished the tournament tied for eighth.

Tanyaporn Chothirunpanit was the only other Conquistador to compete in the invitational, posting an 81 (+9) on day one and an 84 (+12) on day two to finish tied for 26th.

The Conquistador women's golf team will be in action again on Sept. 9, when they travel to McPherson College for the Central Kansas Classic.
