Both the Dodge City Community College Conquistadors men's and women's soccer teams lost their season openers against rival Garden City Wednesday at Memorial Stadium.
The women's team dropped its game to the Broncbusters 1-0 on a goal in the final three minutes of regulation, while the men lost 6-2 to the No. 4-ranked Garden team.
The men trailed 4-2 with eight minutes to play and the Broncbusters netted two more goals to put the game out of reach.
Second-year head women's coach Rebecca Crawford remains in search of her first win at the helm of the DCCC program after Wednesday's defeat.
Both teams will hit the road Saturday for matchups with the Mavericks of Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa.
