The Dodge City Community College rodeo team sent eight participants to the Colby CC rodeo over the weekend, and three made Sunday's short round. The men's team placed ninth and the women's team placed seventh in the 19-team competition.
Frank Morton made the short round in bareback riding but did not mark out in Sunday's short-go. Dalli Davis won fifth in her round and fifth in the overall average in breakaway roping.
Bull rider Brody Olive won third in his long round as well as third in the overall average. No Dodge cowboys or cowgirls made the short round in Colby last year.
The team will ride again in October, when Pratt CC hosts its rodeo Oct. 10-12.
