What does Dodge City Community College head football coach Bob Majeski expect from his team Saturday at Coffeyville?
"To go out and play to the best of our ability," he said.
What does Majeski expect from Coffeyville, which defeated DCCC 27-6 last season?
"To go out and play to the best of their ability," he said.
Following a 53-21 opening weekend loss at Cisco, Majeski said his team has committed to focusing on the aspects it can control — attitude, execution and work ethic — and letting the chips fall where they may.
"We emphasize the same things, day in, day out," he said. "We're not going to let a scoreboard define success for us."
Bryan Parnes, who was knocked out of last week's game after a hit to his head, will start again against Coffeyville, Majeski said.
Both Parnes and backup Aaron Hansen will get chances to play, Majeski said.
"We're just going to go with the hot hand," he said.
The offense won't be the only unit that needs to stay hot.
Against Coffeyville, the Conq defense must maintain its alignments correctly, run to the ball and keep proper technique, Majeski said.
Can DCCC defeat Coffeyville on Saturday?
"Yeah, why not?" Majeski said. "We just need to minimize our mistakes."
