The Dodge City High School Red Demons, who enjoyed their most successful football season in several years, placed six players on the All-Western Athletic Conference team.
Selections were made in a vote by the league’s coaches.
Tailback Jace Banner, linebacker Laton Dowling, quarterback Ty Thomas, defensive end Bruce Campbell, offensive lineman Jesse Trent and wide receiver Landon Head were named to the first team from Dodge City.
“It seems like we keep knocking down hurdles,” DCHS head coach Justin Burke said of his team, which finished with an 8-3 record after advancing to the second round of the Class 6A state playoffs for the first time since the 1994 season.
The Demons also retained the Hatchet, beating their most bitter rival, Garden City, for the second straight season.
