The Kansas City Royals have promoted J.J. Picollo to assistant general manager of scouting and player development.
In his new role, he will be the final authority on the team’s free agent scouting.
Picollo followed Royals general manager Dayton Moore to the Royals from the Atlanta Braves in 2006 as the director of player development. He will continue in that capacity with his new title.
Picollo worked for the Atlanta Braves from 1999 to 2006 in both scouting and player development.
