Might as well call Chuck Coley instant offense.
Coley, a 6-foot-8 sophomore wing shooter, scored a chunk of points in only a matter of a few minutes Wednesday night at the Civic Center.
Against the Tabor College junior varsity, Coley poured in 14 of his game-high 22 points during the opening five minutes, 29 seconds of the game, sparking DCCC to a 97-57 romp.
“I’ve got to get some rhythm to get me going and usually what gets me going is a dunk,” Coley said.
In this case, it was a 3-pointer.
“When I come out and hit my first shot, I’m in my rhythm feeling pretty much like it’s going in,” he said.
The opening 5 1/2 minutes turned out to be 3-point target practice for Coley. The  West Palm Beach, Fla., native had four straight 3-point hits and converted both of his free throws during that stretch.
“He’s played pretty well the last three games,” DCCC head coach Brady Trenkle said of Coley. “He’s playing with a lot of confidence.
“We’re a good 3-point shooting team and this is us. We’re shooting around 50 percent on the season, so it doesn’t shock me when the shots are going in.
“Sometimes (Coley) disappears. We’ll see how he does Saturday night.”
The Conquistadors, who travel to Lamar, Colo., on Saturday, finished 14-for-27 from beyond the arc.
