Oh sure, the final score was reminiscent of the old-school basketball movie: Dodge City High School 41, Great Bend 29.
This was simply another Western Athletic Conference victory for the unbeaten conference-leading Red Demons (6-0), who improved to 16-2 overall.
It was a night when points were at a premium.
“It was a grind-it-out-style game,” DCHS head coach Dennis Hamilton said. “It really was, and we managed to get things done.
“It was not necessarily pretty. Look at the stat sheet and neither team had anybody in double figures. I don’t know if I can recall that in my tenure, and that’s a long time.”
