Weekend golf tournies mark end of Dodge City Days

The 2008 Cowboy Classic golf tournament gave some cowboys a leisurely stoll through a golf course before getting bucked or trying to take down a steer in the rodeo tonight. Dodge City Country Club golf pro Doug Glenn said that around 15 rodeo contestants took the chance to hit the links prior to the rodeo, but that most of them may want to stick to rodeo for their gainful employment.
    The one-day tournament was a five-ball scramble, and teams with a rodeo contestant had six members. For the second year in a row, the team of Gary Johnson, Darren Thomas, Tom Arnstrong, Chad Magouirk and Jason Flegler won first place in the championship flight.
    They scored a 20-under par 51. The tournament started at 8 a.m. and concluded around 1:30 p.m. Full results are as follows for the three flights:
