The Dodge City High Red Demons girls golf team finished second Monday at Hays.
Garden City took first, while Hays took third. The Demons shot a team score of 193, 18 strokes behind Garden City who had a team score of 175.
Two individuals led the way, scoring high enough to place. Friyana Shah placed second with a 42, while Brittany Waldman finished fourth with a 45.
"I think today was a good start to the season," Dodge head coach Jim Mapel said. "Friyana and Brittany played very well."
Dodge will host the Dodge City Invitational Sept. 10 at 3 p.m.
