After beating Great Bend and Ulysses at home over the weekend to take the Ranger Invitational title, the Dodge City Rangers lost two at home to Woodward Monday.
Dodge lost game one 8-4 and continued to struggle at the plate in the second game with a 17-1 lopsided defeat.
Dodge drew two bases-loaded walks in the bottom of the sixth inning in the first game, one by Ty Thomas, but it wasn't enough as Woodward already had a commanding 7-2 lead.
The Rangers went on to lose 8-4 after Woodward plated another run on a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh.
The Rangers have another doubleheader today against Larned with game one scheduled to start at 6 p.m. The Dodge City Junior Rangers also have two games on Red Field. Their series is slated for 6 p.m. as well.
