    NEWTON — The Dodge City High School varsity wrestling team took part in the Newton Tournament of Champions on Saturday.
    Garden City won the tournament with 190 points. Dodge City finished in 19th place with 64 points.
    “A few of our kids wrestled really well,” Dodge City head coach Lars Lueders said. “We just need to have each one of our kids to put it all together at the same tournament.”
    The Red Demons will be setting their sights on the Garden City tournament on Saturday.
    “Our main focus now is to get our whole team healthy.  Once we do that we are going to be a real strong team.”

    DCHS JV takes third
    STAFFORD — Dodge City’s junior varsity wrestling team took third place in the team standings at the Stafford Junior Prairie Classic.
    “This is the toughest tournament of the year for our JV,” Lueders said. “They wrestled really well. We see improvement by each JV wrestler.”
