Last weekend, the Dodge City High School Drill team traveled to a place where very few women ever get to go.
They went to Valley Ranch in Dallas to train with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.
"I like to take the team on an educational trip each year," coach Debbie Conrardy said. "I like to challenge the girls to dances that inspire them to do better. It was really neat to learn dances in the same studio as the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders."
Each year, Conrardy and her team hold fundraisers to be part of something new. This year, the drill team had big help from one single sponsor. Jerelyn Schneweis of Curves.
When Conrardy planned the trip several months ago, she hadn't planned on the Demons making it to the state playoffs. When they found out the team was playing in Derby Friday night, they changed their travel plans slightly to go to the game, and leave for Dallas right after.
