Meade 64, Cimarron 0
The Meade Buffaloes trounced the Cimarron Bluejays Friday night, capturing a 64-0 victory on the road.
The Buffaloes dominated the game from the beginning, starting with Ed Beachy's 32-yard touchdown run with 9:36 left in the first quarter. Then with 5:59 remaining, Taylor Headrick scored the Buffaloes' second touchdown on a 37-yard run.
Meade's Dakota Benear scored the third touchdown of the night on a 45-yard punt return with 4:25 left in the first quarter, making the score 21-0. With 2:41 remaining, Benear picked up a second touchdown on a 26-yard pass to Headrick.
Benear hooked up with Kyle Ross for a 37-yard touchdown pass with 8:59 left in the second quarter, then Beachy scored on a 2-yard run with 7:14 still on the clock.
The Benear-Headrick combination was good for a seventh touchdown, which came off a 33-yard pass in the second quarter. Headrick scored another touchdown with 5:19 left in the third quarter, making the score 56-0.
The Buffaloes' Jordan Moshier scored the final touchdown of the night on an 8-yard run.
Moscow 30, Ashland 12
The Moscow Wildcats handed the Ashland Bluejays a 30-12 loss.
Both teams went scoreless through the first quarter. The Bluejays didn't pick up the pace until the second quarter, when Andrew Reimer scored on a 50-yard run with 7:47 remaining.
Reimer earned his second touchdown of the night with 1:40 left in the second quarter, when he took a pitch from quarterback Ben Fox and took off on a 13-yard run. At the half, the score was 12-0 in Ashland's favor.
The Wildcats started to come alive with 11:06 remaining in the third quarter, when Andrew Hernandez intercepted a pass from Fox and ran the ball 30 yards for a touchdown. The Wildcats' Jace Moore's point-after attempt was successful, making the score 12-8.
The Wildcats scored again with 10:29 left in the fourth quarter, when quarterback Taylor Roop ran 35 yards for a touchdown. Roop's second touchdown of the night came off a 43-yard run with 6 minutes remaining in the game, followed by Hernandez's successful point after.
Roop scored his third touchdown on a 25-yard run with 3:50 left in the game.
Then with 31 seconds remaining, the Wildcats' defense tackled Fox in the end zone for a safety and sealed the victory. Moscow improved to 5-1 overall, while Ashland dropped to 4-2.
Tribune 46, South Gray 44
The Tribune Jackrabbits handed the South Gray Runnin' Rebels a loss, defeating them 46-44 in a District 6 matchup on the Rebels' home turf.
Tribune established its lead in the first quarter and held onto it, even though the game remained close throughout. The Jackrabbits scored eight points in the first quarter, 18 in the second, 12 in the third and eight in the fourth.
Rebels' quarterback Chet Skinner hooked up with wide receiver Bobby Smith for a 30-yard touchdown in the first quarter, and again for a 65-yard touchdown pass in the second. They did it again on a 37-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.
Skinner had a 31-yard touchdown pass to Smith in the third quarter, then ran in the ball 3 yards for the two-point conversion.
The Skinner-to-Smith combination worked for a 41-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, and Skinner capped that play with a 15-yard run and another touchdown.
The Rebels are now 3-3 overall and 0-2 in District 6 play, while the Jackrabbits are 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the district.
Greensburg 54, St. John 42
The Greensburg Rangers beat St. John 54-42.
Greensburg led throughout the game, starting with 16 points in the first quarter. The Rangers tacked on another 16 points before halftime, but went scoreless in the third quarter. Greensburg then scored another 22 points in the last quarter.
St. John scored two touchdowns in the first quarter but was unable to score again before halftime. The team managed to tack on eight points in the third quarter.
St. John scored six more points in the fourth quarter as it attempted to crawl to the top.
South Central 58, Fowler 8
The South Central Timberwolves crushed the Fowler Goldbugs, earning a 58-8 victory on the road.
