The Dodge City Community College men's basketball squad went 1-1 on the road this past weekend, competing in games at Northeastern Junior College, dropping their overall record to 4-1 on the year.
DC3 started things off on the right note Friday night, as they took down Lamar Community College by the lopsided score of 110-64.
Dodge had no problems manhandling the Runnin' Lopes jumping out to an early 27-point lead by the time the first half buzzer sounded.
The Conqs dominated in virtually every aspect of the game, knocking down 47 of their 76 shots for an astounding 61.8% from the field. They also cleaned up the glass, outrebounding the Lopes 41-19 on defensive rebounds alone, not allowing Lamar any second chance opportunities.
Leading the way for Dodge was R.J. McGhee with 16 points and five rebounds, while Chekell Wright also tallied 16 points and dished out four assists.
It was a very balanced attack for the Conqs, who featured six players in double digits, including Tyshon Pickett (13 points), Aaron Wright (12 points), Jordan Fields (12 points) and Clarence Willard (10 points).
As a unit, Dodge only turned the ball over 12 times, while stealing the ball from Lamar 20 times.

Conqs vs. Trappers
However, the game would not fall in favor of the Conqs on Sat. night as they fell at the hands of Northwest Wyoming College 89-76.
The Trappers caged the high-flying Conq offense for most of the night, allowing only two players to score in double digits, and holding DC3 to 26 of 56 from the floor.
Once again McGhee was the leading bucket scorer for the Conqs, pouring in a team-high 27 points, including five three pointers, and nine rebounds.
Willard was the only other Dodge player with more than six points as he contributed 14 along with five boards and seven assists.
Overall, Dodge outrebounded the Trappers, had half the turnovers, had more blocks and steals, but couldn't seem to pull out with the victory as they suffered their first loss of the season.
Dodge City returns home this upcoming Friday and Saturday night as they host the Conq Classic at the United Wireless Arena against Tabor College and Murray State Junior College. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. on both nights.
