On Thursday, the DCMS wrestling team kicked off their season by hosting the Dodge City Wrestling Invitational.
Eight teams from South West Kansas participated in the dual-style tournament.
The Cardinals finished sixth in the final standings with two early losses to Liberal South and Abe Hubert of Garden City.
However, the Cardinals came out strong in their third and final dual to defeat Liberal West.
The tournament was highlighted by Jacob Trabert, Brett Wilson, Andrew Quigley, Jesus Bautista and Miguel Marino, who all finished 3-0 on the evening.
Head Coach Justin Coffey was happy with the team's effort, and looks forward to improving as the season progresses.
The Cardinals return to action on today with a tournament in Liberal.
