The Western Athletic Conference boys soccer team has been released. After having the best season in Dodge City soccer history and making it all the way to state, several from Dodge City were named to the team, as well as head coach Virgil Hutchcraft being named coach of the year.
In addition to earning WAC honors, several players were also named to the Southwest Kansas Soccer Coaches Association Boys All Region team. SWKSCA also named Hutchcraft coach of the year.
"To be named coach of the year, that's just not possible without all my assistants and my players," Hutchcraft said. "They made it easier this year, and being named coach of the year is a reflection of that."
Hutchcraft also said that to have his players on the lists as well is outstanding.
"Javier (Rojas) was All-WAC and Co-Defensive player of the year," Hutchcraft said. "That's pretty awesome. He's a great kid."
Hutchcraft said for Victor Millan to be honored as a sophomore is tremendous.
"I look forward to having him for the next few years," Hutchcraft said.
