On Monday, two Dodge City Lady Demons golfers participated in the state golf tournament held in Olathe.
Hannah Thomas finished her round with a 129, while Whitney Winter carded a 137.
For the girls, head coach Jim Mapel says this a great learning experience for his young golfers.
"The girls just started playing on the team this year and they played very well," Mapel said. "It was a difficult course and we are very proud of them."
Garden City finished second overall in the team standings and the event was won by Mackenzie Thayer of Garden, shooting an 81 and winning in a playoff.
