From Staff Reports
The "Steve King Memorial Sprint Classic" will take place today at the Jetmore Motorplex.
The event features Sprint Car racing at its best. The NRCA 360 Winged Sprint Cars and the URSS Wingless Sprint Cars will team up tonight to entertain fans.
The city of Jetmore is sponsoring a full day of festivities and the evening's racing action to benefit the Steve King Foundation. The foundation was started in King's memory to provide assistance to drivers, pit crew, racing officials and track personnel who are involved in dirt track racing and are seriously ill, severely injured or killed.
Part of the proceeds will also benefit the Hodgeman County Community Foundation Steve King Fund.
Numerous fundraising events will take place, including a golf tournament between the NRCA/URSS drivers and crews, a hamburger feed at noon and a display of sprint cars.
Jetmore's own Ray Seeman will debut tonight. King Racing will field a second team car at the event.
Seeman was the winner of last year’s Jetmore URSS Rebel Nationals.
