Demon volleyball wins 3 in Garden

    The Dodge City High School Red Demon volleyball team went 3-0 in a quadrangular match in Garden City Thursday to improve their record to 19-11. After defeating Garden City, the Demons have a Western Athletic Conference record of 3-3.
    Dodge lost only one set during the day's matches. The stumble came in the first set of the team's first match against Scott City. The Demons rebounded to take the match in three sets, 16-25, 27-25 and 25-23.
    The Demons won their second match 25-18 and 25-20 over Ulysses and beat the Garden City Buffaloes 30-28 and 25-22. Their next matches will be Saturday Oct. 18 at the DCHS fieldhouse in the WAC tournament.
    Regular season WAC records will hold no weight in the tournament. The tournament winner will win the conference championship for 2008.
