The Dodge City High School boys' basketball team’s unbeaten Western Athletic Conference record seemed in peril.
Trailing 52-49 at the end of regulation and the game clock melting, Dodge City sophomore guard triggered a 3-pointer from the left corner with 6.7 seconds left.
Nothing but net.
Hogan’s game-tying 3-pointer gave the Red Demons the momentum they needed in a hostile environment and a four-minute overtime period, as they registered a 58-55 win.
“We ran an out-of-bounds play (for Hogan) and we hadn’t shot it very well,” DCHS head coach Dennis Hamilton said. “All of our players felt (Hogan) was the best option and we stuck with him."
