DODGE CITY —

The Dodge City High School Red Demon soccer team was shut out in Garden City Thursday 2-0. The Demons surrendered both goals to Garden City in the first half to move their record to 7-3 and 3-2 in Western Athletic Conference play.
Dodge coach Virgil Hutchcraft  said his team failed to mark up on a corner kick to give up Garden's first goal. The Buffaloes got over the top of the Demon defense to score their second goal.
The junior varsity team beat the Buffs 3-2 Thursday. Garden scored first in the sixth minute, and Demon sophomore forward Alan Rojas evened the score in the 15th minute.
Garden took a 2-1 lead into halftime, but two second-half Ivan Petrociolli goals put the Demons over the top. Both teams play at Hays Tuesday.
