DCMS 8th-grade boys finish basketball season

The Dodge City Middle School Cardinal eighth-grade boys basketball team finished its season with two losses at a tournament in Great Bend over the weekend and closed out the year with a 7-6 record.
    The A Team, the only team to compete at the tourney, finished the year with a 48-39 loss to McPherson in the semifinals and a 44-42 overtime loss to Hays Felton in the third-place game. Shaphan Gross led the Cardinals with 17 points against McPherson, and Evan Bonner added 14.
    Dakota Fisher led Dodge City in the loss to Hays Felton with 11 points. Rashaan Taylor chipped in with 10 in the season finale.
