Big plays doom DCCC at Coffeyville

The Dodge City Community College football team allowed touchdowns on the opening plays of both halves and rushed for minus-66 yards Saturday in a 72-7 loss at Coffeyville.
    Coffeyville wide receiver Duron Carter, son of NFL Hall-of-Famer Chris Carter, hauled in a 52-yard pass from quarterback Cayden Cochran 13 seconds into the game.
    Carter caught six passes for 117 yards and five touchdowns Saturday.
    Cochran completed 13 of 21 passes for 252 yards and four touchdowns.
    For DCCC, starting quarterback Bryan Parnes completed 12-of-30 passes for 129 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions.
Backup Aaron Hansen also saw some playing time as well, completing four-of-nine passes.
    Cameron Hall led the Conqs in receiving with five catches for 73 yards.
    Receiver Michael Edmondson scored DCCC's lone touchdown, a four-yard pass from Parnes in the third quarter.
    No player from DCCC rushed for positive yardage.
    Following Carter's opening touchdown, Coffeyville running back Mulku Kalokoh scored from three yards out to put the Red Ravens ahead 14-0.
    With 2:21 left in the first quarter, Taylor Stuart caught a 5-yard pass from Cochran for Coffeyville's third touchdown.
    Sandwiched between touchdown receptions by Carter, Coffeyville's Quinton Patton blocked a DCCC punt for a score.
Coffeyville led 42-0 at halftime.
    Eleven seconds into the third quarter, Coffeyville's Talris Brown intercepted a Conq pass and returned it 10 yards for a score.
After a one-yard rushing score by Kalokoh, DCCC's Edmondson scored for the the Conqs.
    At 4:21 left in the third quarter, Carter caught his fourth touchdown, and the Red Ravens led 63-7 at the end of the period.
    A 25-yard Luke Pray field goal and Carter's fifth receiving score put the Red Ravens on top 72-7.
