The Dodge City Civic Center has hosted a lot of impressive events over the years.
When square dancing was popular, the annual spring festival brought dancers from all across the state, and the sight of hundreds of colorfully dressed dancers swirling around the floor was stunning.
The Community Concerts program has brought some impressive artists to the stage over the years, from John Bayless to Chinese acrobats to fully staged musicals.
During the glory days, the music, theater and art departments of St. Mary of the Plains College produced elaborate and impressive musicals at the Civic Center.
The facility has been home to countless pop concerts, proms and, when there were lots of dance studios in Dodge City, some high-style dance recitals.
But there's an annual event that takes over the Civic Center that you might have missed.
Band-O-Rama defies description, so if you missed it this year, you should make plans to see it in 2011.
