Washington D.C. residents have a snowball fight on DuPont Circle after a record-setting storm hit the nation’s capital last weekend. The storm crippled many eastern cities and was so severe it will close federal government office buildings today. Such a snowstorm isn’t in the offing for Dodge City residents, but more snow is expected for the next couple of days.

     It's going to be a long winter.
    And while 2010 may not set any records, the year has brought more snow than this region has seen in the past several years.
    The winter storm that blew into town yesterday will add between 3-5 inches to the 12.2 inches we've seen since Dec. 1.
    "It's not going into the record books or anything, but it's well above the average of 9.2 for this time of year," said National Weather Service Meteorologist Jennifer Ritterling on Sunday.
