The Dodge City Middle School Cardinal eighth-grade volleyball team participated in the end of the season ARMS league tournament on Saturday in Garden City. The tournament was held at Garden City High School and hosted by Abe Hubert Middle School.
The Dodge City Middle School Cardinal football teams both finished their seasons Thursday with matches against schools from Liberal. The seventh-graders lost to Liberal South 45-20, while the eighth-grade team beat Liberal West 36-14.
Two Jordan Doan rushing scores in the first quarter put DCMS up 16-0 quickly at the end of the frame, and eighth-grade Cardinal quarterback Taylor Murphy threw three touchdown passes in the second quarter that put the home team up 36-0 before the halftime whistle blew.

To celebrate the completion of the Mariah Hills Golf Course's 2008 Advanced Junior Golf program, the junior spent a day on the course playing a round of alternate shot with one Dodge City
Four Dodge City eighth-grade volleyball teams competed Saturday at the 2008 Dodge City Middle School 8th Grade Volleyball Invitational. Both the DCMS teams went 0-3 on the day, while both the Sacred Heart teams went 1-2 in their matches. Teams from Garden City-Kenneth Henderson MS won both brackets of the tournament.
Both Dodge City Middle School Cardinal football teams fell in their matchups with the Guymon, Okla. Tigers. The seventh-graders fell 22-12, and the eighth-grade team fell 20-16 at Memorial Stadium.
The Cardinal seventh-graders battled back after giving up an early touchdown reception by Guymon's Guillermo Valenzuela. With six minutes, 18 seconds left in the first half, Cardinal running back Dominic Randall ran in from 14 yards out to tie the score at 6.
The Sacred Heart Middle School Cougars football team continued its holy roll Tuesday against the Garden City Kenneth Henderson eighth-grade junior varsity team by winning at Memorial Stadium 52-0. The Cougars improved their record to 5-0 with the win.
Running back Parker Davis and the Sacred Heart offensive line set the tone for the game midway through the first quarter, as Davis ripped through the Henderson defense for a 48-yard touchdown run. After a short Kenneth Henderson drive stalled, Davis returned the ensuing punt with 4:47 from 73 yards out for his second touchdown of the game.
Both Dodge City Middle School Cardinal football teams came out victorious in their butter-knife games against squads from Garden City Abe Hubert MS. The seventh-graders won 14-0, while the 8th grade Cardinals busted the Hawks up 38-8.
Cardinal running back Jordan Doan ran all over the Hawk defense in the eighth-grade game. With help from blockers David Quigley, Bryce Sonday and Zackary Boyd, Doan totaled 266 yards on the ground for the Cardinals after the dust settled on Memorial Stadium on only 20 carries.
