 Ruby "Boots" Ruth (Jennings) Bullard, 91, died early Sunday, May 25, 2008, at Special Care Pioneer Manor, Hugoton.
    She was born Sept. 7, 1916, to Oscar and Maude (McKinney) Jennings at Ahloso, Okla. She married Willie "Wick" M. Bullard Jr. on March 13, 1932, at the Coal and Pontoco (Okla.) county line north toward Lulu in Indian Territory. He preceded her in death Dec. 1, 2003.
    She grew up in Coal County, Okla. A pioneer of her time, she helped clear timber and brush and break the land for farming and built two homes for the family. She sewed all the family's clothing, quilted, raised a big garden and canned using a wood stove.
    On Saturday nights, she and her husband went to friends' homes and played music, sang and danced and enjoyed sharing meals. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Oklahoma and in Dodge City.
    Survivors include two daughters, Betty Lo Bullard Norton and husband, Omar, Moscow, and Donnitta Bullard Plowman and husband, Richard, Larned; two brothers, Mart Jennings, Show Low, Ariz., and Chock Jennings and wife, Dessie, Alpaugh, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Velma Ruth "Boe" Bullard Jennings, San Diego, and Artie Jennings, Hanford, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Melinda Norton Boswell; three brothers, Elmer, Tite and Oscar Jennings Jr.; and two sisters, Bert Bullard and Cloketa "Coke" Bottoms.
    The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church, Moscow, with the Revs. Steve Gill and Larry Bradford presiding. Burial will be in the Moscow Cemetery.
    Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. today at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton.
