 Harold Dean Lewallen, 77, died Sunday, May 25, 2008, at the Meade District Hospital, Meade.
    He was born Sept. 26, 1930, to Charles W. and Verda Alice (Post) Lewallen at Kansas City, Kan. He married Anna C. Cohron on Oct. 28, 1960, at Kansas City, Mo. She survives.
    He served his country in the Air Force, Army and Marines as an aircraft mechanic. He was with the Civil Service in the Navy at Gardner and later retired from the Army. He and his wife moved from Gardner to Montezuma in 1992.
    He was a member of Morningside Community Church and a past commander of the AWANA Group, both of Montezuma.
    Other survivors include three daughters, Susan Dworak and husband, Leonard, Denver, Catherine Michel, Medford, N.Y., and Margaret Foster, Chesapeake, Va.; two brothers, Tom Lewallen and wife, Liz, Montezuma, and Howard Lewallen and wife, Shirley, Milton, Wash.; two sisters, Wilma Bennett, Wichita, and Patsy Larken and husband, Jess, Paola; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ronald Lewallen; and three sisters, Ellen Groves, Alta Groves and Alice Foxworth.
    The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Morningside Community Church, Montezuma, with the Rev. Jeff Mitchell presiding. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Montezuma, with a military graveside service conducted by Copeland American Legion Post 369.
    Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. today at the Montezuma Funeral Home, Montezuma.
