    Wayne Comer, 80, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at his home in Moscow.
    He was born July 12, 1927 to Alfred Violet Gillespie Comer at Fay, Okla.
    He had taught for 42 1/2 years.  Forty years at Moscow Public Schools USD 209.  For 34 of those years he served as Superintendent of Schools and the band instructor. 
    He was a member of the United Methodist Church, and had been an organist and chancel choir director.  He had served as chair person of the Parish committee and had served as President of the Administrative Council and was the teacher of the "Older Adult" Sunday School Class, Moscow.  He was in the Kansas Teachers Hall of Fame, Dodge City and a Board member of Live On Stage, past president of Silver Haired Legislator, Topeka.
    Survivors include his brother in law, Don Hill, Liberal; one sister in law Shirley Comer, Calumet, Calumet, Okla.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Harold, Vance and Arlen Comer and four sisters, Mildred Lallement, Evelyn Morris, Bonnie Hill and Ruth Vickers.
    The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Wayne Comer Gymnasium, Moscow with Rev. Timothy McCrary presiding.  Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Fay, Okla.
    Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. to service time Monday at the Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton.
