There will be a stick horse for all the brave adults willing to saddle up on one of these horses and run for the roses. Stick horses can be picked up at the Dalton Gang Hideout for no charge. Decorate the horse any way you want and enter the competition. Save your stick horse to race at the Meade County Fair in July.
Other events at Dalton Days are the Dalton Escape fun run, the parade, an ice cream crank-off, a chuckwagon breakfast, a high noon fast draw contest and a cowboy dance, all to take place June 7. On Sunday, there will be a chuckwagon breakfast and cowboy church and on both days, the Reenactment Guild of America gunfighters and a living history competition.
Admission to Dalton Days Wild West Fest is a $5 Dalton Days button, good for both days. Buttons may be purchased at the Meade Public Library, Blossoms and Gifts, Meade County Museum and the Dalton Hideout.
